New Arrangement

Had a little impromptu gathering yesterday and concocted one of my DIY floral arrangements. Only 18$ people. Beautiful Hydrangeas for only 8$ and a three for 10$ bundle that included Gerber Daisies. Easy peasy !

NEXT: I love the Hydrangea so much I’m going to try to plant them in my yard !

Polish Change: Sparkly

New custom color combo for the week:

I paired OPI Golden Rules with OPI Goldeneye on top.

Insider Tip: When you have a glitter polish it’s usually not opaque, so I like to put a solid color underneath to let the glitter really sparkle.

Polish Change DIY

I always get compliments on my nails being perfectly polished . I love having a fresh manicure without spending my cash. So here’s my not so well kept secret: I do it my self.
My favorite products are:

Nuance by Salma Hayek
Protective Base Coat

This keeps your nails from being stained by all the crazy colors out there as well as make your mani last longer.

Essie Nail Lacquer
This week I chose Turquoise & Caicos. It reminds me of a beautiful statement necklace that pops. Perfect for a beach vacay.

Out The Door
Top Coat for Nails

I use this on ALL of my manicures. It makes everything last. A trade secret I learned: the next day after your mani, put another coat of this and it make it harder to get those pesky chips.

I hope you enjoy the cash saving tips. This can be your in-between manicure. I found all the products at CVS but here are the links for purchase online.

Fave Food

Just wanted to share one of my favorite recipes that makes me and my man so happy !

Chicken Cacciatore.

4 chicken thighs
2 chicken breasts with skin and backbone, halved crosswise
2 teaspoons salt, plus more to taste
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, plus more to taste
3 teaspoons Lawry’s seasoned salt
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 large red bell pepper, chopped
1 onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
3/4 cup dry white wine
1 ( 28-ounce) can diced tomatoes with juice
3/4 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth
1  teaspoons dried oregano leaves
1/4 cup coarsely chopped fresh basil leaves

Season the chicken pieces with Lawry’s Seasoned Salt and Italian Seasoning .

In a large saute pan, heat olive oil over a medium/high flame. Add the chicken pieces to the pan and saute just until golden brown, (about 5 minutes per side). Transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside. Add the bell pepper, onion and garlic to the same pan and saute over medium heat until the onion is tender, (about 5 minutes). Season with salt and pepper and Lawry’s Seasoned Salt. Add the wine and simmer until reduced by half, (about 3 minutes). Add the tomatoes with their juice, broth, and oregano. Return the chicken pieces to the pan and turn them to coat in the sauce. Bring the sauce to a simmer. Continue simmering over medium-low heat until the chicken is just cooked through, about 30 minutes for the breast pieces, and 20 minutes for the thighs.

Using tongs, transfer the chicken to a platter. If necessary, boil the sauce until it thickens slightly, about 3 minutes. Spoon the sauce over the chicken, then sprinkle with the basil and serve.
